JBS renews presence in B3’s Carbon Efficient Index

The index lists publicly traded companies committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

JBS has once again been included in the portfolio of the Carbon Efficient Index (ICO2) of B3, the Brazilian stock exchange. Staying on the ICO2 is a reflection of the Company’s commitment to the best sustainable practices. The index lists publicly traded companies committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Among the factors that explain JBS’ inclusion in the index are the management of GHG emissions and the transparency of data on the advances made in the low-carbon economy. The recognition is also in line with JBS’ commitment to its journey of becoming Net Zero by 2040, which has encouraged the company to expand its investments in projects linked to the circular economy and the use of renewable energy sources in the supply chain.

JBS’ inclusion in the B3 Carbon Efficient Index reflects our commitments, which are geared towards becoming Net Zero by 2040. We were the first company in the protein sector to establish this commitment globally and we are advancing on several fronts to reach this goal, including circular economy and renewable energy,” says Maurício Bauer, Corporate Sustainability Director of JBS in Brazil.
