JBS launches 100% electric truck cargo service

Reflecting the commitment to Net Zero, the new No Carbon trucks will replace diesel models used by service providers in Brazil.

JBS’ new cargo service – No Carbon – will be part of JBS Novos Negócios and will be responsible for managing a fleet of electric-powered refrigerated trucks that will distribute products from Friboi, Seara and Swift.

Each electric vehicle cuts the annual release of about 30 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent into the atmosphere. With this, No Carbon will make a positive contribution to the reduction of JBS’s scope 3 emissions as the new trucks will replace diesel models. Through this initiative, JBS will also contribute to improving air quality in major Brazilian cities.

The trucks are equipped with refrigerated trunks, simultaneously transporting cooled and frozen products with a capacity to hold up to 4 tons of cargo. Recharging points will be available at JBS distribution centres, and trucks can drive up to 150 kilometers when fully charged, making them ideal for urban centres. No Carbon was created with a fleet of 31 electric Cargo Urban Vehicles (VUC), serving important regions in the states of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and the Federal District.
