JBS CEO appears at Reuters event on responsible business
Gilberto Tomazoni, JBS’ CEO, was pleased to appear at this year’s Reuters Responsible Business forum. Tomazoni spoke at an event on ‘Empowering Action: Ensuring all Departments can Help Drive the Business from Ambition to Action’, which discussed how international businesses are reshaping themselves to actively drive positive change across its operations, whilst allowing employees to feel ownership and input to these agendas.
Appearing alongside representatives from global organisations such as Unilever, AB INBEV, and the IBM Corporation, Tomazoni set out JBS’ initiatives in putting sustainability at the very core the business.
Tomazoni opened his contributions setting out the global footprint of JBS’ operations by stating: “Worldwide, we have a portfolio of brands recognised for excellence and innovation including Swift, Seara, Moy Park and Pilgrim’s Pride which find their way every day onto the tables of consumers in 190 countries. We are also investing in correlated businesses such as leather, biodiesel, collagen, personal hygiene and cleaning, recycling, and transport. All our companies are engaged and aligned with our sustainability strategy, and we are working towards achieving our goals together.”
He added “JBS is a people business that has invested considerably in looking after people, our communities and protecting the planet. Sustainability is the lens through which we look at all our actions and decisions in the company. It is a part of our culture. With every decision we look at our options and think about the most sustainable – then we take that option.”
